On March 20, 2019, the USCCB Chairmen of the committees for Religious Liberty, the Promotion and Defense of Marriage, and Domestic Justice and Human Development sent a letter to the US House of Representatives to share their concerns with the Equality Act.

Archbishop Kurtz, Bishop Conley, and Bishop Dewane outline the various harms that the Equality Act would introduce, including threats to religious liberty, quality health care, privacy, charitable services, and livelihoods.
